Fall Local Work Group Meeting

Sep 30
1 min read

On September 14th, the Will-South Cook Soil & Water Conservation District

hosted a Local Work Group meeting at their office to discuss natural resource concerns

in the local area. This is the second meeting in a series of meetings being held for

stakeholders to share their perspectives on natural resource concerns affecting the area

and potential solutions to address such concerns. Twenty-one stakeholders of various

backgrounds, including farmers, landowners, municipal employees, and Forest

Preserve District employees, were in attendance.

The purpose of these Local Work Group meetings is to bring together community

partners and stakeholders to review and identify resource concerns in the area while

developing solutions to address those resource concerns. This is based on the principle

that community stakeholders are best suited to identify and provide solutions to natural

resource concerns on a local scale. A third meeting is being planned for January 2027.

Please contact the SWCD if you have any interest in attending a future meeting!
